Key Responsibilities: Chief of Staff - Office of the Chief Air Ops Officer reports directly to United's SVP & Chief Air Ops Officer. This role acts as a key resource to said Officer and functional areas within Air Ops. Through close partnership with the HR/LR Leadership team, this role will partner with business partners and key collaborators to drive both tactical and critical initiatives within the department.
- Serve as a trusted advisor/strategic partner to the Chief Air Officer by interacting with other leaders within the company to identify, advance and resolve emerging issues in anticipation of any business challenges.
- Prepare or lead the preparation of documents, presentations and other deliverables for meetings, discussions, and decision points in line with the leader's style and vision.
- Support the SVP by serving as a liaison for the entire organization in leading meetings, coordinating event agendas, ensuring consistent follow-up, and supporting efforts to help strategic ideas take root.
- Builds and completes the Air Ops strategy to forward enterprise needs.
- Enable integration across the organization to identify issues that serve as barriers to the department operating at maximum efficiency.
- Analyze data and employee feedback on various programs and initiatives to drive sustained behavior change and achieve business results.
- This is a hybrid role based in Chicago.
- Travel up to 25%.

Qualifications What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): - Bachelor's degree (Business Administration, Finance or Operations field)
- 7+ years relevant work experience in an operational function leading/coordinating large scale projects.
- 3+ years leadership experience
- Strong executive presence
- General understanding of current operational initiatives
- Strong critical thinking capability
- Excellent consultative/mentoring/collaboration/influencing skills required, including tried ability in establishing credibility and demonstrating diplomacy when running multiple business partners and key collaborators.
- Strong business discernment and understanding of the business.
- Ability to drive clarity from ambiguity and adapt quickly to a changing environment.
- Analytical problem solver with a creative and innovative approach to problem solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work optimally at all levels in an organization.
- Tried ability to evaluate and interpret presentations and Excel models.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
- Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position.
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): - Master's degree (Preference for prior experience in Inflight, Flight Ops or Network Operations)
- Preference for experience in management consulting
- Preference for prior experience in analyzing, interpreting, and driving insights from operations data.
- Familiarity in operational definitions and data sources for key performance metrics in operations
