SALARY RANGE: $75,000-$85,000
DATE:
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm, or 9 am-5 pm. The schedule may vary due to department needs.
JOB SUMMARY:
This is an exciting time to join the Development & Communications team, as Grand Street Settlement expands programming, focuses on community engagement and advocacy, and secures new private funding through campaigns and events.
Grand Street Settlement is looking for a Development Manager to provide essential support to the its Development and Communications Department. Reporting to the Chief Development and Communications Officer, the Development Manager will provide day-to-day support for all fundraising activities, with a particular focus on donor management and stewardship. This position will touch all aspects of fundraising, including grant writing, corporate sponsorship, events, government grants, and individual giving. This position will contribute enormously to the future of Grand Street’s work.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Passion for Grand Street Settlement’s mission
• Bachelor’s degree is required
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit development, corporate partnerships, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling content for diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) and social media platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team showing both strong initiatives to reach individual goals as well as supports the overall team goals
• Fluency in Spanish or Chinese is a plus
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development Operations
• Provide high-level administrative and project support for the fundraising, marketing and public relations functions of the organization to achieve the goals of the Development Department;
• Manage and maintain the accuracy and integrity of data and processes in the Salesforce CRM platform
• Work with finance to track and reconcile gifts received, and develop and track grant budgets as appropriate.
• Build and run comprehensive monthly, quarterly and annual comparative analyses for Board and Executive leadership.
Fundraising and Corporate Partnerships
• Develop and implement strategies to build and sustain corporate partnerships and sponsorships.
• Identify and pursue new corporate funding opportunities and collaborations.
• Build relationships with corporate partners to ensure effective volunteer engagement and align opportunities to support needs of Grand Street’s programs.
• Provides administrative and fundraising support for annual fundraising events including the Taste of the Lower East Side and Annual Golf Classic.
• Support the development and implementation of donor communications strategy, including identifying engagement opportunities and drafting donor outreach.
• Prepare materials for events with current donors or prospects (includes background research, bios, talking points, scheduling, logistics)
• Participate in the development and execution of departmental strategy to cultivate donors, corporate support, win grants, and develop new sources of support to reach fundraising goals;
• Support the team with other projects and events as needed
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
• Successfully clear; NYS DOI Fingerprint Screening, NYS Central Registry Clearance, Sex Offender Registry Clearance, three (3) reference checks
