Here, you’ll do more than join something - you’ll add something. The Intelligent System Experience Test Engineering team is looking for a driven and dedicated software engineer. As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the unique and phenomenal opportunity to be part of testing the most iconic operating systems. From Lock Screen interactions and Notifications to Control Center, the System Experience team is responsible for preserving the fluid look and feel of Apple’s ecosystems, features like Parental Controls though Screen Time, Screen Sharing and more. We also support the core frameworks that drive Apple’s leading platforms iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS.
DescriptionAs a Software Engineer in Test, you will work in a multi-functional team which is responsible for projects such as SpringBoard. You will work closely with software engineers, project managers and other Apple quality teams. You will ensure that Apple delivers the next generation of its operating systems with the highest quality by providing continuous integration testing. A mix of manual testing supplemented by automated suites help ensure scale, but need to be able to focus on the larger projects while sweating the small UI details.
- Key Qualifications
- Experience writing code in Objective C or Swift to test an API, SDK, or Frameworks
- Experience writing and triaging automated software tests (e.g., unit-tests, regression tests, functional tests, stress tests)
- Experience in developing test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate bugs, and consolidating bug reports
- Experience in driving development and deployment of relevant testing tools and infrastructure
- Experience with XCTest and Xcode
- Detail oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with passion for quality processes
- Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution
- Ability to work independently, raise issues and take corrective action
- Keen eye for detail
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Experience
- BS or MS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
Pay & Benefits- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $55.64 and $83.75/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
