- Experience with Timberline preferred but not required. Excellent Excel skills required.
SUMMARY: To manage a department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all Company activities that will assist management, its shareholders and other users in making educated economic decisions about the Company's future. Ensure proper controls are in place throughout the company.
Position involves both direct responsibilities as well as oversight. Candidate should have unquestionable integrity, excellent accounting skills, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with other department heads in a collaborative manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Oversee the activities of the Accounting Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements. Ensure accurate physical inventories and accurate reporting of cost of sales for food & beverage operations.
- Manage the monthly and year-end close, including journal entry preparation and review, financial analysis and accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
- Manage fixed assets and capitalization policies. Provide accurate calculations of annual depreciation schedules and capital expenditures.
- Oversee and direct the timely completion of the annual budget, ensuring reasonable assumptions.
- Work with the outside accounting firm to provide all year end financial information to assure corporate income tax compliance for the accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes. Ensure timely filing of the 5500's for the 401(k) and the employee benefit plan.
- Work with the outside accounting firm to ensure timely completion of the financial and 401(k) annual audits. Verify annual audits pertaining to insurance, workers compensation and 401(k).
- Oversee the accounts payable function to ensure all invoices are paid in a timely manner and reasonable discounts are taken.
- Oversee the accounts receivable function to ensure all accounts are collected promptly.
- Periodic involvement in the payroll process, ensure accurate payroll tax reporting by ADP. Oversee and maintain the vacation and PTO accruals and verify as necessary.
- Responsible for all other financial reporting and ensure compliance with all local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including, but not limited to, sales tax, personal property tax, unclaimed property, Smith Travel Research, 1099's, etc. Oversee payroll tax reporting and handle all tax inquiries.
- Maintain the Timberline real estate system, prepare the monthly billings to tenants, process payments, and respond to tenant inquiries. Calculate appropriate rate per square foot for RE taxes and insurance and reconcile annually and generate credits or invoices to the tenants. Track sales and invoice tenants as appropriate for percentage rents.
- Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate all financial needs.
- Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
- Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company's value.
