Processes orders and requests from other hospital departments so they can effectively operate.Job DutiesCoordinates pharmacy department inventory and compiles reports on findings. Manages inventory reports and drug recalls.Notifies pharmacy managers and clinical staff of drug recalls and expeditiously removes recalled products from stock and appropriate paperwork is completed. Communicates backorders in a timely manner to key stakeholders.Maintains appropriate medication inventory levels without overstocking or leaving department in short supply.Communicates relevant supply issues (shortages, generic availability, etc.) to the clinical management team as soon as they are made aware and during the weekly clinical management meetings. Coordinates and initiates the process for removal of outdated inventory.Meets with key members of the pharmacy industry in order to keep abreast of drug distribution issues and availabilities. Places orders with wholesaler and specialty distrubuters per department policy.Identifies key wholesaler issues and communicates them during the Quarterly Business Review.Communicates information needed to support pharmacy functions.Participates in organizational and departmental QA activities.Maintains technology databases (as assigned).Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED 2 years Previous experience in inventory management. Demonstrates competency in the operation of the pharmacy automation. Knowledge of PC use and appropriate database systems. Maintains a working knowledge of drug changes within the industry. Preferred QualificationsAssociate’s Degree Business management or accounting. Physical DemandsLift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
