Description
The Corporate Controller is responsible for ensuring the financial health of the corporation by overseeing its accounting and financial functions. The Corporate Controller establishes, monitors, and enforces financial policies and procedures for the organization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Monitors and confirms the financial condition of the corporation by providing information to external auditors. Also performs internal audits.
- Ensures compliance with financial and accounting regulations.
- Performs financial risk assessments.
- Develops and implements internal control policies and procedures for budgeting, cash management, administration, and other activities.
- Coordinates and directs financial planning, procurement, investment, and compliance activities.
- Prepares and consolidates financial statements and reports for internal and external use.
- Assists management with financial analysis and decision making.
- Prepares and manages the budget process.
- Handles preparation for tax returns.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
- Performs other position related duties as assigned.
- Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
Requirements
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTSKNOWLEDGE | SKILLS | ABILITIES- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Highly proficient with accounting software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Mastery of Excel and databases, Great Plains software.
- Knowledge of process optimization.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS- 5 years' or more of experience in accounting or finance required.
- Managerial experience in an accounting or finance role required.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
