Summary:
The Senior Director, Web and Digital Services is responsible for managing and leading a small team of tech-focused individuals within the Web & Digital Services team. This role oversees the online presence of the association’s digital properties, content, integrations, and marketing automation. Additionally, this Senior Director manages vendor relationships that support the infrastructure for daily operations and websites. Serving as the first point of contact for discussion on technology changes or improvements, this role requires strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and fostering collaboration across the association.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Web & Digital Services team, prioritizing projects and coordinating both internal and external staffing to meet requests efficiently and promptly.
- Manage resources effectively, including budget development, expense monitoring, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinate and oversee projects and requirements for U.S. Travel’s digital properties, including but not limited to routine maintenance and modifications for multiple U.S. Travel websites and integrations with platforms like CVENT and Salesforce.
- Ensure timely delivery and execution of Web & Digital Services projects, managing internal customer expectations.
- Manage the incorporation of dashboards and data visualizations (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Google Data Studio, and DOMO) into websites, controlling access based on membership/role.
- Interpret and communicate customer requirements for website development, updates, or changes; oversee development, delivery, and execution, recommending best practices and user experience improvements.
- Develop and oversee testing scenarios covering multiple environments, devices, and integrations for updates and changes to digital properties.
- Track and resolve defects or deficiencies with internal and external teams, including final testing and implementation.
- Provide UX/CX review of projects, customizations, and website behavior, ensuring responsive design.
- Facilitate content management updates across U.S. Travel departments, train staff on the content management system, assist in developing web content and pages, and recommend SEO and best practices to support U.S. Travel’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Lead the implementation and management of Google Analytics, collaborating with departments to determine tracking and tagging needs and making recommendations to enhance U.S. Travel’s strategy and ROI.
- Promote and advocate for the use of officially supported tools and resources, aiming to increase efficiency and champion change.
- Support email operations by providing a supported platform for event marketing and membership communications, providing project management oversight for the development of email templates, coordinating with Marketing and Communications teams on measurement tools, and recommending strategies for list management.

Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/A) with 10+ years of professional experience in a web technology-oriented field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and staff supervision.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) are advantageous.
- Strong project management skills with experience using various project management tools; familiarity with Atlassian/JIRA is highly desired.
- Deep understanding of customer strategy, data analytics, and experience with Google Analytics 4 customizations.
- Expertise in managing and administering Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Drupal and WordPress.
- Knowledgeable in open-source environments and DevOps practices.
- Conversant in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with marketing automation and customer survey tools.
- Knowledgeable about Salesforce account administration and data integration.
- Knowledgeable in data visualization tools including PowerBI, Tableau, Google Data Studio, and DOMO.

Other:
- Position based in Washington, DC.U.S. Travel staff work in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
- Minimal travel is required.
