Position: Regional Leader
Accountable to: National Leader
Salary Range: (75,000 - 98,000)salary to commensurate with experience
L'Arche Canada is seeking a person with experience and leadership to join the National Leadership Team in the role of Atlantic Regional Leader. This person will work closely with the national team and share responsibility with a part-time Regional Leader. The team's mission is to support the growth and well-being of L'Arche and its mission in the region and beyond. The Regional Leader will work with community leaders in the Atlantic region as well as with other members of L'Arche Canada. The best people to fill this position are those with a taste for growth and who are enthusiastic about the opportunities for change that will benefit the local L'Arche communities.
Location:L'Arche in Atlantic Canada is a vibrant, growth-oriented collection of five established communities and two projects. Currently our homes and programs are in Antigonish, Wolfville, Halifax and Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, and Saint John, New Brunswick. We have projects in Fredericton, NB, and St. John's, NL. Major Duties and Responsibilities- Coaching, guiding, mentoring and evaluation/review of Communities and Community Leaders in accordance with the policy and practice of L'Arche Canada and best practice standards for service delivery in the disability and inclusion communities.
- Support the development of funding strategies (government funding, grant proposals and fundraising) in consultation with Community Leaders and Board Presidents.
- Develop and implement leadership development, partnership and outreach strategies in collaboration with L'Arche Canada.
- Analyze, enhance and support a vibrant and sustainable regional life.
- Ensure the priorities of L'Arche Canada and its strategic plan are lived in the region within all communities.
- Advance the development of the regional strategic plan and action steps, known as the Mission-In-Action Plan (MAP).
- Ensure unity and promote knowledge, experience and resource sharing between communities, other regions of L'Arche Canada and within the International Federation of L'Arche.
- Work in partnership with the part-time Regional Leader.
- Lead the Regional Council team who are composed by the community leaders of the region.
- Contribute as an active member of the National Leadership Team.
Qualifications- Experience and or extended knowledge of L'Arche Canada, its core values and operating structures.
- Post -secondary education in human services, non-profit management or related field of study and/or significant senior management experience in a community-based human service organization.
- Strong ability to work on a team, proven skills in interpersonal relations.
- Excellent oral, written and electronic communication skills in English.
- Working knowledge, obtained through professional and/or personal experience, of the disability sector and its related networks and systems throughout Atlantic Canada.
- Expertise in interpersonal relationships, ability to work with many people in team-based settings.
Role Requirements- Ability to work independently from a remote office.
- Available for extensive travel throughout Canada.
- Some International travel required.
- Presence and participation at various Regional and National meetings (some evenings and weekends).
- Ideally located near one of the communities in Atlantic Canada, however, questions concerning location and mobility will be discussed during the interview.
