The pay range is $89,700.00 - $161,500.00

Leading the retail revolution as Target’s champions of bold strategic thinking the Enterprise Strategy Development team seeks to drive profitable enterprise growth by exploring new opportunities (e.g., markets, formats, channels, and guest segments), driving strategic focus and accountability, and transforming Target’s business. We accomplish this through our values of building diverse and inclusive teams, connecting across the enterprise to foster relationships, and driving the organization towards bold strategic choices.
As a Lead Strategist in Enterprise Strategy Development, you will play an integral role in project teams of fellow business strategists, applying your strengths in problem solving, business acumen, and strategy development to shape Target’s long term strategic direction.
Day to day leadershipof project worksteams on strategy consulting-like engagements that identify and seek to harness enterprise or business unit growth opportunities.
Break down organizational problems into component parts which includes developing work plans to gather inputs, performing analysis, uncovering insights, and communicating findings in high impact ways through thoughtful coordination with the Principal Strategist (project leader).
Build an understanding of retail trends, competitors, and consumers to develop new concepts and businesses that meet future needs in the fast-evolving multi-channel retail landscape.
Build relationships to collaborate cross-functionally and effectively influence without authority to drive business decisions and advance long-term strategic efforts.
Enable the coordination and collaboration with partners across other Insights, Strategy and Growth teams to maximize strategic impact of work.
Participate in continuous team improvement including advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts, fostering connections and relationships across the enterprise, and demonstrating individual drive and initiative.
About you (experience requirements):
4-year degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred
Minimum 2-3 years or experience working at a management or innovation consulting firm [ie. McKinsey, Bain, BCG, etc.] or within the strategy group of a large corporation.
5+ years of strategic experience including assessing business strategies, leading advanced analysis and problem solving, and developing multi-year business strategies.
Ability to solve complex problems through a systematic approach to structured problem solving such as problem disaggregation, data and competitive analysis, financial opportunity sizing, and consumer research.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to tell compelling business and result stories, including designing and facilitating key enrollment moments with leaders across the enterprise.
Ability to take the right partners, influence without authority, and collaborate in a team environment.
Innate curiosity and desire to learn with a strong inclination to drive for results.
Desire to contribute to a team culture of bold strategic thinking and Target’s values of Inclusivity, Connection and Drive.
Willingness to take risks, challenge the status quo, and work under ambiguous circumstances.
This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
