People Operations Team Manager
We’re hiring! We are looking for a People Operations Team Manager to join us in Malaysia or the Philippines.
This role will be championing and overseeing a diverse team to improvement of the next level in the Workforce Administration (regulatory administration) and Payroll Centre of Excellence (CoE) across Asia. Some key activities are benefits, filing of returns, work passes, personnel file management and statutory reporting.

Key Accountabilities
- Ensures assigned country cluster WFA and Payroll processes are reviewed in detail to gain in-depth understanding of workflow and activities to enable consistent, effective, and accurate documentation in building business continuity.
- Tracks WFA and Payroll processes are completed within the established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and country specific legal requirements. Report on all SLAs, volume and other quality metrics as defined and as required.
- Act as an escalation point of contact for non-routine WFA and Payroll issues that need a leadership view; raise to COEs, People Partners, Head of People Operation, Asia as necessary.
- Act as a central point of contact for feedback and input from the Asia region and country business partners on efficiency and effectiveness of country cluster WFA and Payroll service delivery across the region while aligning to overall ABS and PO directions.
- Be responsible for the development and execution of continuous improvement initiatives in the region to standardize processes, identify efficiencies, and drive additional scope to global/regional shared services.
Operational Excellence
- Be responsible for meeting internal and/or external audit requirements and where required to extract and consolidate various request file documents.
- Establish and implement the scope of People Operations responsibilities in a consistent manner for the assigned countries.
- Monitor multiple People Operations inbound and outbound cases, platforms and notify the appropriate subject matter experts in the team if any requests require immediate action. Work all cases to conclusion upholding confidentiality and the highest level of customer service.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Partner with collaborators of the People Organisation community to deploy new delivery processes in the region and/or supported by global/regional HR Shared Services
- Lead, coach and manage performance of the in-country People Operations team members.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Be responsible for defined in-country People Operations are in compliance with HR policies, local workforce laws, and regulations.
- Monitor and continuous improvement on agreed service delivery standards, service level agreements (SLAs), and quality assurance processes within the countries.
Technical Skills & Knowledge Required
- Minimum 5 years in HR operations domain, project management or business analyst role, ideally, within mid-large size company in the insurance industry or professional service firms.
- Shown work experience as a reporting manager responsibility.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong analytical, decision-making and troubleshooting abilities to complete tasks within required time frames and respond effectively under pressure.
- Intermediate level in common Microsoft applications functions
