Role
A leading global manufacturer seeks a dynamic leader to drive growth initiatives for one of its specialized North American business units, which operates from a center of excellence in Peachtree City, GA (Metro Atlanta). This division serves aerospace, shipyards, mining, and military and defense clients, often handling complex projects with lengthy sales and production cycles. Strong experience in managing large-scale production operations and negotiating high-value contracts is essential.
This business unit generates $65 million in revenue and employs 160 people. The role involves spearheading efforts to grow market share, enhance the go-to-market strategy, and ensure superior customer satisfaction while maintaining profitability targets. The ideal candidate will have a background in both manufacturing and service with a strong track record of P&L management in a complex, highly customized project-based business.
Responsibilities
- Operationally accountable for driving accelerated, profitable growth across two key product groups.
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis to ensure positive development of P&L, cash flow, and key financial metrics.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional standards, including safety, GDPR, privacy, ethics, code of conduct, anti-bribery, environmental regulations, and product design standards.
- Develop and implement a strategic business plan aligned with the broader industrial segment strategy to achieve growth objectives.
- Build and lead cross-functional teams to align human resources, sales, marketing, project management, engineering, supply chain, and financial efforts toward increasing market presence, cost efficiency, and innovation.
- Foster a positive and progressive culture that promotes employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and stakeholder value.
- Drive efficiency and sustainability initiatives within the supply chain.
- Lead negotiations and resolve product or service warranty issues while coordinating corrective actions to mitigate future risks.
- Maintain strong employee-management relationships across business units.
- Identify, justify, and execute acquisition opportunities to expand the product portfolio, market share, and organizational capabilities.
- Oversee sales activities, ensuring alignment of commission plans, pricing strategies, marketing efforts, and sales tactics to increase lead generation, quotes, and conversions.
- Oversee manufacturing activities to optimize product cost, development, LEAN initiatives, capital investments, and speed-to-market.
- Manage human resources, including hiring, onboarding, disciplinary actions, compensation, training, and internal communications to enhance employee development, safety, and engagement.
- Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, as well as efficient internal systems and processes to improve capital utilization, profit development, and reporting accuracy.
- Establish and track SMART goals and KPIs to assess individual and departmental performance.
Requirements
- Exceptional leadership and mentoring abilities, with strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
- A well-rounded business executive with experience managing profit and loss, LEAN manufacturing, continuous improvement, R&D, product management, sales, and marketing.
- Willingness to travel to support sales efforts, business demands, or company meetings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and adaptability to various environments and cultures.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize tasks and maintain organizational focus.
- Experience with acquisitions, onboarding, and integration is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office and other essential business software.
- United States Security Clearances are a big plus.
Compensation & Location
This full-time position is based in Peachtree City, GA (South Metro Atlanta). It is available for immediate hire. A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate, including a base salary, performance bonus, monthly vehicle allowance, 401(k) with company match plus profit-sharing component, and excellent health benefits.This is an on-site role, and the company will pay relocation costs.
