This role of the Bartender will be to provide exceptional customer service in our Events and Banquets at the Upper Club. The ideal candidate will provide great customer service and relationship building. You will set-up and maintain the bar operation at the highest standard and work well in a team environment. A high level of professional bartending and customer service skills are required. We offer a competitive hourly rate in a non-tip environment.
Essential function
• Welcome guests and provide them with timely cocktail or food service.
• Communicate knowledge of beer, wine, spirits and food.
• Take accurate beverage and food orders, prepare drinks and process on POS.
• Ensure order is delivered and served in a timely fashion.
• Promote cocktails, utilize upselling techniques.
• Check member and guest I.D.’s to prevent under age serving.
• Adhere to California’s “Dram Shop Laws”.
• Arrange bar glassware and bottles to meet standards.
• Follow all rotation procedures to ensure freshness and quality.
• Track consumption and usage.
• Control transfers and stock inventory.
• Control and limits wastage.
• Maintain Bar and Lounge cleanliness according to regulation.
• Slice and prepare garnishes.
• Assist with all reasonable bar back duties as required.
• Adhere to break requirements and schedules as well as clocking procedures.
• Adhere to basic hygiene procedures and grooming standards.
Qualifications
• At least 2 years of professional Bartending experience in a similar environment
• Bartending School Graduate preferred
• T.I.P.S. Certification
• ServSafe Certification
• Experience with Jonas, or POS system preferred
• Excellent Multi-tasker
• High level of professionalism, teamwork and work ethic.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills (people skills).
• High emotional intelligence.
Physical demands and work environment
• Able to stand for long hours, bending, lifting and reaching over.
• Ability to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear.
• Occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
• Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
Environmental Factors
• The team member is exposed to working around food and beverage equipment and cleaning chemicals and degreasers.
• The team member may be exposed to outdoor elements for long periods of time.
-Work Hours: This position is a part-time, hourly position with varied shifts and hours, on weekends and some holidays.
