Position Outline:
As a leader in cultivating our Safety Culture, the Safety Manager must be inspiring, motivating and dedicated to achieving the highest level of safety excellence at Blois Construction. The Safety Manager collaborates closely with the Safety Director, Human Resources, Project Management, and Resource Management teams to uphold the highest standards of health and safety across all Blois Construction operations, ensuring that no employee is exposed to unsafe or unacceptable conditions.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate extensively with the Safety Director, Project Management, and General Supervisors.
2. Assist in developing, promoting, and managing Blois' Safety Recognition Program.
3. Review and oversee all Safety Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance.
4. Aid project teams in creating safety plans for all projects and facilities.
5. Monitor and prepare safety compliance audits for all projects and facilities.
6. Conduct weekly field audits on all projects and facilities.
7. Oversee all vendor and trade partner project compliance.
8. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with scheduled field document requirements.
9. Prepare and present a summary of the Safety program, with metrics, at the Monthly Status Meeting.
10. Investigate, document, and report all accidents and incidents, including, third-party claims.
11. Participate in pre-construction/site orientation kick-off meetings for all projects.
12. Assist in developing, scheduling, conducting, and maintaining all training requirements.
13. Maintain all Safety Training Records and Certifications
14. Distribute and monitor Tool Box Talks and Weekly Safety Checklists.
15. Assist in Tracking and investigations, of all Workers' Compensation claims.
16. Coordinate, train, and maintain all Air Monitoring Equipment required for operations.
17. Manage Safety related equipment inventory and allowances for all projects.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor of Science in Safety & Environmental Health or a related field, or
• 5-8 years' experience in construction safety management and
• Professional certificates (CSP, SMS, CHST, OSHT, CSST)
• OSHA Outreach Trainer preferred.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Must possess the ability to meet deadlines, be self-motivated, detail oriented.
• Exhibit above-average interpersonal skills, and demonstrate excellent follow-through capability.
• Proficiency in using all standard and emerging technologies and applications.
