Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a
Marine District Service Manager and Trainer to join our
Marine team in a field position servicing Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. This position provides technical support in assigned geographical area for Retail Customers, Yamaha Dealers, and Internal Customers. May provide support outside of assigned geographic area. This position should be able to address all levels of complex technical issues. In addition, supports Marine Training as needed throughout the training season instructing Outboard technicians. Applies broad knowledge and technical expertise in advance training technologies.
What you'll be doing:- Provide counsel to retail customers through assigned customer relation visits and Yamaha dealers through assigned technical visits.
- Train new dealers in Yamaha business operations and processes, including system books and resources.
- Plan and execute mini clinics and dealer development visits. Provide recommendations and suggestions for dealer improvement.
- Present annual technical update seminars, as assigned (i.e., arranging invitations, curriculum training and answering product questions).
- Provide technical support to the corporate display at boat shows, corporate events, and other events, as required.
- Communicate on items related to service issues by completing timely Yamaha Customer Relationship Management System (YCRMS) Reports, Monthly Reports and Market Information Reports.
- Work with District Managers to improve the dealer network and support assigned Boat Shows and events.
- Instruct training courses in the classroom and lab environment (i.e., delivery, testing, grading and reporting). Maintain safety and security of classroom, lab facilities and training aids / engine simulators.
- Manage a business travel budget, keeping current and accurate all required expense documentation and maintain company issued vehicles, equipment, and Yamaha supplies.
- This role requires more than 70% travel.
What you need to be successful: - Associates degree (preferably in Marine Technology or Powersports business), or equivalent Marine industry/Powersports Service certifications.
- Minimum 3-5 years Marine/powersports industry Service experience, troubleshooting and repairing Marine and powersport products.
- Excellent record in providing superior customer service on technical issues at a dealership, another division within Yamaha Motor Corp., or a boat builder.
- Experience in creating and presenting material in a classroom environment would be preferred
- Must be proficient in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license required.
