The Department of State Hospitals, Metropolitan State Hospital is currently accepting applications for Clinical Social Worker (Safety) - Discharge Coordination, Permanent/Fulltime.
Under the general supervision of the Program Director, department of Social Work Services, and in consultation with the Discharge and Community Integration Specialist, in a healthcare or correctional facility, provides clinical social work, discharge/transition planning, and community integration services to individuals with mental, physical, or developmental disabilities, their families/caregivers, and their communities. Works as a team member with other treatment disciplines; provides casework and group/individual treatment; assists program staff in evaluating individuals' readiness for release; assists with housing and community resources preliminary to individuals' release from hospital care, and makes treatment recommendations.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess completion of a Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and must be registered with the California Board of Behavior Science (BBS) as either ACSW or LCSW.
