The Cakery is looking to hire someone who has experienced bakers and baker assistants. Looking for a passionate about food, desserts, and willing to grow this company together. We have been steadily expanding over the past year with various market appearances as well as offering our cakes on the dessert menu at Sushi Ota, Ken Sushi Workshop, and some other restaurants. Must be reliable and have a passion for baking. You will begin working alongside our head Bakers until you become familiar with the process and products. Pay:
- Start at $17.00 per hour for experienced baker assistant and $18-19 per hour for experienced baker
- Will start off part-time with the opportunity to expand to full-time
Job Description:
Baker
-Work with our head baker in prepping and baking all goods.
-Collaborate with other bakers to create and execute dessert menus.
-Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen.
-Oversee inventory management and ordering of pastry supplies.
Baker Assistant
-The role is supporting our pastry chef and small team
-Assisting chef in preparing ingredients
-Washing cake pans & dishes
-Kitchen maintenance (cleaning floors, equipment, tables, etc.)
-Prep pans for baking
-De-pan cakes, wash and put away pans
-Make sure that the kitchen & studio is maintained with pristine cleanliness
Qualifications
-For baker/ baker assistant: must have at least 6 months of commercial kitchen experience or working at a kitchen/bakery
Schedule:
- Day shifts (6:00 or 7:00am-2:00pm) Monday-Friday for now(flexible depending on orders) with some required Holiday and weekend shifts
- Extra early morning shifts for special events (including Holiday dates)
- Must work on Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day (Extra Pay)

Requirements:

- Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
- High School diploma or higher
- Able to communicate well and understand and follow written and verbal instructions from the owner
- Ability to smell, see, and taste.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs (This position requires moderate physical activity)

- Food Safety Certification (Preferred prior to starting)
