Job DescriptionContinue in Sales Rep Role: First and foremost, a District Manager (DM) is responsible for the continued development and success of their sales rep territory. They continue to be eligible for all commissions, spiffs, bonus, and STAR just like any other rep.
Primary Contributor to Sales Rep Success: The Medline PA DM's primary responsibility is to meet or exceed established annual sales and strategic goals for their respective division. The DM is chartered with providing strategic leadership that supports Medline's corporate strategy to division's sales team. The DM is also responsible to recruit, hire and develop each individual representative in the organization to ensure we have the best sales team within our peer group and insure the success of each sales rep with in their division. Success defined as rep consistently achieving the predefined annual goals set by Medline including: Quota achievement, STAR goal, and success in deal generation/implementation. The DM will foster rep success through the following activities:
- Formal and consistent rep feedback and communication: DM is responsible for providing formal written and verbal feedback to the reps on a regular basis. Including weekly calls, semiannual reps assessments, and periodic progress reports.
- Target specific management groups and large supply customers
- SPA administration
- Strategic price increases
- Improving the Medline mix of business in prime vendor account.
Key Account Management:
DM is responsible for creating and developing strong relationships with key decision makers in various levels of these designated accounts. Key accounts to include:
Profitability Improvement: DM is responsible for the continual improvement of Medline profitability and rep commissions through the following activities (among others):
Administrative duties: DM must effectively manage all administrative tasks in a timely manner including: All required reporting, Medline corporate communication, SPA approval and compliance policies, etc
Qualifications - External- Bachelor's degree required;
- 5-7 years outside business-to-business sales experience; autonomy and accountability;
- 2-5 years' experience managing a team of sales professionals
- Ability to sell effectively to different levels within a customer organization;
- Proven ability to identify, connect with, and close new business; build consensus
- Complex sales strategy/approach to sell solutions across multiple levels;
- Background in commissioned, tangible product sales;
- Track record of demonstrable sales growth and quota attainment;
- Ability to present multiple product lines;
- Excellent communication and organizational skills;
- Stable work history;
- Computer proficiency especially in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
