Requirements
The
Wireless Architect will be responsible for project-based design, configuration, and implementation of advanced wireless and/or LAN/WAN networking solutions from mid-level to enterprise-level clients. As part of this, the diagnosis and troubleshooting of both wireless and LAN/WAN networks is a responsibility of this role. The Wireless Architect is responsible for their own System Designs, Migration Plans, Test Plans, Diagrams, RF Surveys, or any other work as relevant to an assigned project as well as helping other Wireless Engineers or Wireless Technicians. Presales/consultancy work will be necessary as well which includes working with New Era Technology Account Executives, attending meetings with potential clients, providing overall solution recommendations, and/or developing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and writing technical Statements of Work (SOWs).
PRIMARY DUTIES include but not limited to:- Design, configure, and implement advanced wireless networking solutions for mid-sized to enterprise-level clients.
- Expert understanding of WLAN controller and cloud based systems to include but not limited to Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Mis, and able to configure or provide configuration suggestions.
- Understand Network Design and trouble shooting.
- Troubleshoot both wireless and/or data networks (LAN/WAN).
- Conduct Wireless RF Surveys and document results.
- As part of a team, develop comprehensive project-based System Designs, Network Diagrams, Migration Plans, and Test Plans.
- Effectively communicate with internal Account Executives and potential clients to assess and make solution recommendations
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:- Associates Degree or Equivalent Working Experience.
- Technical certification(s) such as CWNA, CWNP, CCNA (Wireless and/or Route & Switch,) ECSE Design and/or Advanced, Aruba ACMA.
- Minimum of 5 years of wireless design, configuration, implementation, and testing experience.
- Expert level experience performing RF Site Surveys/Spectrum Analysis with Ekahau, Air Magnet, iBwave.
- Experience with wireless packet captures and analysis (Wire Shark/Airpcap/others).
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:- Certified wireless network professional certifications (1 or more of the following: CWNA, CWDP, CWAP).
- ECSE Design and/or Advanced.
- Cisco/Meraki wireless products.
- Cisco CCNA Wireless or Aruba ACMA.
- 5G/4G/LTE/DAS engineering and support
COMPETENCIES:- Understanding of wireless authentication methods including 802.1x, EAP, RADIUS, etc.
- Ability to develop advanced Wireless Designs, Network Diagrams, Migration Plans, and Test Plans.
- Ability to work with and communicate effectively with internal Account Executives, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate effectively and explain concepts and technologies to potential clients, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work with presales engineers and assist in the developing Bills of Material (BOMs) and Technical Statements of Work (SoWs).
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
- Must have a valid and active U.S. Issued Driver's License.
Travel: Willing to do travel of occasional field surveys, depending upon client needs. Travel expectations are low, possibly a couple of trips per year.
Salay: $95,000 - $105,000 depending upon experience.
