As a Staff Machine Learning Scientist, you will play a critical role in defining the long-term AI strategy of Cleveland Clinic. You will lead the development and implementation of leading-edge algorithms and ML models while pushing the boundaries of utilizing Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) to solve critical problems in healthcare. To understand business issues and lead the development of AI-driven solutions, you will collaborate with business stakeholders from various functions.
A caregiver in this position works 8:00am - 5:00pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Develop advanced GenAI and ML models to solve important problems in healthcare.
- Design and conduct experiments to evaluate performance of AI models.
- Collaborate cross functionally with IT, operations and clinical teams to develop and integrate AI solutions to existing and new products.
- Mentor and guide junior scientists and engineers (depending on the level).
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in GenAI and large language models.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- MS or PhD in computer science, engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML research and development with emphasis in predictive modeling, deep leaning, GenAI and LLMs post PhD or 10+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML research and development with emphasis in predictive modeling, deep leaning, GenAI and LLMs post master's degree.
- Expertise in using AI frameworks and tools, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and Hugging Face, to build and tune foundation models.
- In depth experience in deep learning and GenAI techniques in Natural Language Processing and multi-modal representations.
- Strong software skills in Python or other relevant programming languages.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Passion for leveraging AI in healthcare.
- Strong machine learning background and solid software development skills.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Experience developing and deploying AI technologies in healthcare.
- Familiarity with healthcare data and systems (EHR, medical imaging, etc.).
- Experience with cloud computing technologies related to AI (Azure, Databricks, etc.).
- Familiarity with MLOps best practices.
