Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
We are looking for a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE)/Continuous Improvement (CIPS) Manager to join our team of industry-leading talent. The HSE/CIPS Manager is accountable for assisting members of management in the formulation of the site's strategies, individuals' yearly objectives and metrics, improving the review system, developing and implementing all aspects of the Continuous Improvement Operating System, paying for skill training, and new employee training. This leadership role will actively engage with site leaders and employees to deliver excellence in Continuous Improvement, Quality, Safety, Environmental Health, training, and other projects as assigned.
- Perform safety training programs, maintain and update Job Hazard Analysis, new communication methods, Lean tools, implement 5S, continuous improvement, and six Sigma
- Develop a safety discipline focused on creating a best-in-class employee work environment, clear communication, and engagement from all levels of management
- Administer all environmental and government reporting programs to ensure locations are at the highest standards of environmental awareness, disposals, and environmentally conscious purchasing
- Develop and implement all safety, emergency, and security programs, with related training, including development
- Partner with managers to define necessary skills needed and team development, putting the right people in the right roles
- Participation and leadership in steering committees, safety council meetings and senior-level presentations when needed
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Shop or manufacturing experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in environmental safety or business preferred
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Continuous Improvement preferred
- Must possess a valid drivers' license and acceptable driving record
- Ability and determination to move operational initiatives forward, using performance metrics and benchmarks to track progress, and the ability to use fact-based persuasion to influence key stakeholders
- Experience balancing strategy and execution, ability to get 'hands-on' with the business while understanding the processes needed to deliver results
- Strong project management skills and process orientation
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite tools
