USB is seeking a part-time Athlete Product Placement Specialist for our Marketing department—this role will specialize in placing Shock Doctor, McDavid and Cutters products in the hands of elite athletes and reporting on the resulting usage and content. SUMMARY OF POSITION The part-time Athlete Product Placement Specialist will coordinate the communication, ordering and placement of key Shock Doctor, McDavid and Cutters products to elite, amateur, and professional athletes in tackle football, flag football, basketball, hockey, baseball and others. This includes owning communication with athletes, tracking budget, product orders, and fulfillingproduct orders with the athletes. The Athlete Product Placement Specialist will also report on the placement of products via a bi-weekly report that includes visual content of athletes using the product. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for communicating with athletes and identifying trends, as well as an interest in a career in digital marketing and/or social media. This role is key in influencing USB’s marketing strategy. Of course, alove of sports is a major plus. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Athlete Communication With guidance from the Director, Brand Marketing, Team Sports, own year-round communication with athletes for seeding priority products in pre-identified sports of focus, depending on the season Proficient in social media messaging, email, and other digital communication methods preferred by athletes to whom we seed product Follow up with athletes to confirm receipt of product and report on next steps for more product seeding Product Fulfillment Responsible for order entry and working with the internal shipping team to process orders in a timely manner, along with tracking orders via the appropriate shipping carrier Track, record, and report on the status of orders placed, including athletes receiving the product and what product was shipped to them, along with tracking the cost of product orders placed according to budget Progress Reporting Proficient in browsing media sources where athletes would be visible using the product, including cable television, streaming content, online photo and video libraries, and social media assets Present results of efforts in the bi-weekly digital report that includes visual content of athletes using the product Must be comfortable owning the creation and population of information in the digital report Track and record all brand tags and/or mentions as a result of product seeding Manage conversations with athletes to ensure they understand how the product should fit, how it should be used, and product features and benefits POSITION SPECIFICS This is a part-time position – expected to work no more than 20 hours per week. This position is based out of the Fountain Valley, CA office, with hybrid schedule flexibility there is a requirement of three days in the office per week, at least four hours per day on each day. PAY TRANSPARENCY The Company is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location. The salary range for this role in Fountain Valley, CA is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) preferred 1-2 years of marketing experience with expert understanding of team sports, especially football and basketball Organized, solution & detail-oriented, self-motivated, who can easily transition between multiple tasks Excellent verbal and written communication skills with amazing attention to detail Proactive, problem solving, self-starter with the ability to work independently with little oversight PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Candidate must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with ability to be in a stationary position 50% of the time; occasionally move about inside the office to access fine cabinets, office machinery (such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.); constantly operate a computer; occasionally ascend/descend stairs; constantly position self to maintain files in file cabinets; the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations; the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feed of the observer); and frequently move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds across office for various needs. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions if projects/opportunities arise. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
