Our Location and Remote Work Policy Energy Trust operates under a flexible work model, offering employees the autonomy to choose where they work from within Oregon or Washington. Our physical office is located in downtown Portland, OR, but we recognize that productivity can happen anywhere. Employees are encouraged to work from wherever they can best accomplish their tasks-be it from home, the office, or another location.
While remote work is supported, all staff are expected to attend in-person company-wide meetings on a quarterly basis, at minimum. Teams often meet once a month in the office to cross-collaborate and see each other in person. While not required, we'd love to see you if you can join.
What We're Looking For: The Marketing Manager-Business Programs will be responsible for supporting and/or managing cross-cutting integrated marketing and communication campaigns to raise awareness of and promote Energy Trust's business-to-business programs and services throughout Oregon and SW Washington. They will manage planning, development and execution of both internally and externally led marketing strategies and initiatives for two of Energy Trust's Business Sector programs: Industry & Agriculture and New Buildings . They will collaborate with a diverse, interdisciplinary group of internal staff, including other members of the Program Marketing Team, members of our statewide outreach and brand marketing teams, program designers and researchers. The Marketing Manager - Business Programs will report to Sr. Marketing Manager- Business Programs.
The Marketing Manager - Business Programs is expected to report to the Portland office quarterly at a minimum for all staff and other in-person meetings. Occasional travel may be required to attend conferences and to support delivery of tactical marketing plans across the state.
What You'll Do: - Manage annual marketing planning in collaboration with Sr. Marketing Manager-Business Programs and oversee tactical execution for internally run program marketing.
- Provide regular status updates and develop final reports on the performance of marketing campaigns and tactics.
- Secure resources necessary for the development and delivery of marketing plans, including contracting with creative vendors, overseeing the work of media buyers and contributing to Public Relations strategies for internally run program marketing.
- Oversee planning for and execution of specific activities, such as photo or video shoots, in collaboration with other Program Marketing Team staff.
- Oversee the marketing scope of a large, outside consulting firm responsible for implementing Energy Trust's New Buildings program.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Marketing Manager-Business Programs to develop cross-cutting business-to-business marketing campaigns.
- Provide subject matter expertise and consultation to program designers, outreach managers and brand marketing team members on projects and campaigns designed to reach and serve industrial and agricultural customers, small businesses, and members of the commercial architecture, engineering and construction industry.
- Support stakeholder coordination.
- Identify market research needs, contract with researchers and manage projects to inform campaign planning and program design.
- Continue to expand Energy Trust's relationships and engagement with diverse content creators, creative agencies, and vendors to support inclusive and multicultural marketing best practices.
- Participate in and provides input to inform annual budgeting and business planning processes.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Perform all job functions in a safe manner.
- This role is not a people manager and does not have direct reports but will direct the work of external contractors, such as market research firms, creative services providers, and marketing consultants that support business programs.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, advertising, brand marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience managing in-house marketing or working at a creative agency or consulting firm.
- 4 years' experience developing and/or managing the execution of business-to-business marketing plans
- Demonstrated ability at creating campaigns to reach diverse audiences.
- 2 years of experience managing multiple vendor contracts and developing and managing budgets of $100,000 or more.
- Experience managing the work of and providing effective direction to media buyers, brand agencies, creative services vendors, public relations practitioners or other professional services firms.
- Experience scoping and/or applying quantitative and qualitative market research to inform marketing and public relations campaigns.
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary environment with technical teams.
- Prior experience working in the energy or commercial building industry is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral, written communication abilities including strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel software programs.
- Ability to attend and participate occasionally in community events throughout Oregon.
- Occasional travel may be required to attend monthly team meetings, quarterly all staff meetings and out of state conferences. Travel may also be required to support delivery of tactical marketing plans such as customer videoshoots and photoshoots across the state.
