We have an exciting opportunity for a senior mechanical engineer within our GCS (Ground Control Station) Mechanical Engineering team to support the development of our Ground Control Stations. These are complex environments that involve a large cross-section of advanced technology. The opportunity to intersect with other engineering teams while supporting our premier customers is an attractive aspect of this role.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:- Responsible for design of 19" rack assemblies, mounting of LRUs within the racks, and designing LRUs.
- May performs thermal and structural analysis. This includes hand calculations as well as computer analysis.
- Provides production support.
- Supports design of engineering systems by evaluating and interpreting flow-down requirements and develops effective approaches to meeting those requirements.
- Troubleshoots, analyzes, and repairs systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
- Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.
- Directs the activities of designers, technicians and may direct the activities of moderately experienced professional staff.
- May represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications- Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree or four or more years of experience with a master's degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Must have a thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
- Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with 19" rack and LRU design per EIA/ECA-310.
- Experienced CAD user. Experience with CREO CAD software is preferred.
- Prefer experienced thermal analyst. Prefer experience with IcePak CFD software.
- Prefer experienced structural analyst. Prefer experience with ANSYS FEA software.
- Must be able to work extended hours as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required.
