The Billing Analyst is responsible for analyzing billing data and ensuring accuracy of invoices and billing reports. Other duties include monitoring customer funding balances and aged receivables to ensure prompt payment. Assisting with invoice preparation as needed. This position will also provide input for contract implementation as well as policy and procedure changes. This position is full-time (40 hours/week). Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.
We offer 3 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours during training will be an 8-hour shift between 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday – Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Utilize multiple reports to ensure the accuracy of billing transactions
- Review and validate customer pricing and setup
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies
- Assist with invoice preparation and reconciliation of billing to A/R; Monitor outstanding A/R balances and take appropriate action
- Prepare reports and analyses as required in support of the monthly financial closing process and contractual obligations
- Provide input to policies, systems, and procedures for effective control of billing
- Assist in development of new processes within Billing and other departments
- Test system changes
- Internal audit of invoices

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma OR GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR Older
- 3+ years of billing experience, preferably within Government contracting or a similar industry
(Equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable military experience) - Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and correspondence) and integrated accounting systems
- Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Oracle, SAP) Understanding of federal billing regulations and compliance standards (e.g., FAR, DFAR)
- Experience with invoicing systems and processes, particularly in Government contracts
- Experience with contract types: cost-reimbursable, fixed-price, time and materials
- Ability to manage and review contracts for billing accuracy and compliance
- Experience in preparing reconciliations and ensuring billing accuracy
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
Soft Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for liaising with clients, internal teams, and government agencies
- Ability to collaborate in a remote or distributed team environment
- Proven experience in customer relationship management and issue resolution
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
