The Department of Dermatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking an academic inpatient and outpatient medical dermatologist with interests in patient care and teaching. The inpatient portion covers 25% of total hospital-based dermatology inpatient consultations at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. While on the inpatient service, the position entails four half-day morning clinical sessions per week with afternoons dedicated to consultations with the Harvard Combined dermatology resident team. Non-inpatient weeks are supplemented with 2-3 afternoon clinic sessions per week. Evening and weekend consultation coverage is shared with other faculty members.
Our department provides unique opportunities for medical dermatologists to teach and practice at the Medical Center in the Longwood Medical Area and/or our department’s state-of-the-art practices in Chestnut Hill and Needham. Ideal candidates must have excellent clinical skills and a passion for teaching, and working with trainees. An interest in research is also strongly encouraged. The candidate must be board eligible or certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology. A commitment to the values of an inclusive and academic environment is required.
Appointment as an Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor at the Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements in addition to teaching activities. Suitable candidates will have an MD or an MD-PhD, and Board Certification in Dermatology.
