The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing all day to day operations for the department. This position will require collaboration throughout the entire organization in the role of enforcing budget and spending compliance as well as providing vital financial information for those department heads to make financially well informed decisions. At their core the Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing data processing, financial reporting and assisting in the annual external audit, but will also be responsible for many additional levels of involvement within the department and organization. This position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), Elysia DelVecchio, CPA and will be responsible for supervising the Finance Associate and potentially a Finance Intern.
Role Responsibilities
- Overseeing and reviewing all financial transactions posted by the Finance Associate in our reporting systems
- Manage all aspects of the month-end close process to ensure accurate financial statements are generated and assist in analysis of financial statements with COO
- Oversee and review the monthly budget process
- Reconcile organizational accounts and investigate any discrepancies or errors
- Manage and prepare semi-monthly payroll for all employees
- Assist the COO in creating financial reports on a regular basis (i.e. monthly BOD financial reports and reports to aid in BOD Meetings occurring 3x per year)
- Maintain and manage all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial processes
- Assist and coordinate the annual audit with the external auditors
Requirements
- Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA preferred but not required.
- Experience with non-profit fund accounting is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working with multiple reporting systems and reconciliation
