Join Allianz Partners, a global leader in insurance and financial services, as theDirector of Accounting & Reporting, North America. In this role, you'llhave a broad remit across the finance function and wider organization, having accountability over internal and external reporting deliverables while collaborating closely with the Finance Director and North American leadership team. As a member of the Finance Management Committee, you'll act as a key business partner, driving financial excellence across the North America region (USA and Canada).
You’ll work with the Finance Centre of Excellence and financial leaders to deliver results and support strategic initiatives. The position offers a hybrid work schedule at our North America Headquarters in Richmond, VA while reporting directly to the U.S. Chief Financial Officer.
What you will do:
- Accountable for monthly and quarterly financial closing governance, collaborating closely with the Finance Centre of Excellence to ensure accurate and timely delivery of the financial result.
- Single Point of Contact for all regulatory reports: Responsible for all local regulatory, statutory and tax reporting requirements, managing third party stakeholder relationships, e.g. regulatory and tax authorities, drawing on support from the Finance Centre of Excellence.
- Responsible for the coordination of internal and external accounting audits, including timely follow up and closure of any related findings.
- Ownership of the end-to-end financial control framework, ensuring control design and operating effectiveness remains in place with ongoing organizational changes.
- Accountable for ensuring strong balance sheet oversight, including detailed movement analysis on a quarterly basis.
- Supporting the Managing Director, Finance Director and Planning & Controlling lead in business partnering within the North American market, supporting the growth ambitions of the business.
What you will bring
- 5+ years relevant accounting experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
- Strong US GAAP and IFRS accounting knowledge.
- Good understanding of insurance and/or financial industry, including the organization and structure of insurance or finance companies.
- Experience in operating in an international / matrix environment.
- Proven leadership in driving complex projects,with strong skills in project steering, conflict resolution, and crisis management.
- Expertise in change management with the ability to effectively lead and develop teams through transitions while managing competing priorities and conflicts.
- Ability to connect and interact with the broad organization at all levels.
- Energy, enthusiasm, persistence, and adaptability.
- Focus on timely delivery of quality outputs.
- Fluency in English for communication and negotiations.
