Position Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable part-time in-house accountant to help manage the day-to-day financial operations of our small business. The successful candidate will handle basic accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll, and assisting with tax filings. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and enjoys working in a dynamic environment with a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Financial Record keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable/receivable.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
Process invoices and payments in a timely manner.
Payroll Processing:
Prepare and process payroll on a bi-weekly or monthly basis.
Ensure compliance with tax withholding and benefits deductions.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
Provide management with regular updates on financial performance.
Tax & Compliance Support:
Assist with preparing documents for tax filings (sales tax, income tax, etc.).
Track and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Budgeting & Cash Flow Management:
Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.
Track cash flow and report any discrepancies or concerns.
Other Tasks as Needed:
Assist in the implementation of accounting software (if applicable).
Support the business owner in any other ad-hoc financial projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Fluency in Quickbooks is a must.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a small business environment.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar (or willingness to learn).
Skills:
Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Other Requirements:
Availability to work 3 days per week, approx. 9 AM to 2 PM.
Familiarity with small business tax laws and reporting requirements (a plus).

Hourly rate: based on experience
