Key Responsibilities:- Direct and supervise the operational and management activities of case processing activities at a defined Case Processing Center.
- Liaise with staff in Global Medical Safety Operations (GMSO) functions (Global Case Receipt, Sector Liaison, Global Safety Reporting) as appropriate to facilitate compliant, timely and efficient end-to-end case management.
- Manage teams/personnel in daily activities relating to case processing activities - coordinate performance management, staff development plans and execution of those plans.
- Participate in recruitment of staff.
- Identify resource needs and allocations to ensure appropriate functioning of team.
- Evaluate and identify staff training needs to ensure all personnel within the team is trained.
- Provide expertise in operations activities including case processing (or other functional expertise).
- Contribute to development of processes and project deliverables as identified.
- Collaborate with internal GMSO personnel to develop unified consistent processes.
- Work with other J&J departments to clarify procedures.
- Participate in or lead local and international multidisciplinary functional teams.
- Support Associate Director/Director/Sr. Director in internal audits and external inspections.
- Accountable for decision-making related to processes and product-specific requirements relevant to assigned team/therapeutic area.
- Serve as an influential change agent within GMSO when changes are implemented.
QualificationsEducation:- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a health related field. An advanced degree (i.e., Nursing, PharmD, PhD) or other related scientific degree is preferred.
- For nurses and pharmacists, certification/licensure is required (e.g. RPh, PharmD)
Experience and Skills:Required: - A minimum of 5 years of pharma experience is required.
- 1+ years of management experience is required.
- Previous industry and/or clinical experience with a focus on pharmaceutical safety related areas, including individual and aggregate reports is required.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with safety reporting and regulatory compliance including experience of international safety reporting/regulations is required.
- Ability to allocate resources, coordinate and harmonize workflow activities and provide personnel management to staff is required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a team is required.
- Ability to evaluate processes and procedures against outcomes to identify methods to improve efficiency, accuracy and compliance is required.
- Ability to use appropriate initiative and autonomy in achieving objectives is required.
- Ability to facilitate change is required.
- Ability to identify, coordinate training activities and train personnel on pharma safety topics is required.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are required.
- Good computer skills (Word, email) and familiarity with safety systems is required.
Preferred:- Previous experience in a relevant management role is preferred.
- Knowledge or experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Visio preferred.
