Job Description:
The Oregon Home Builders Association seeks a Bilingual Education Instructor. As an Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lectures and demonstrations for students seeking continuing education opportunities and certifications.
Responsibilities:
Deliver instruction to students using pre-designed lecture materials and demonstrative techniques
Assess individual student progress, ensure proficiency in state/federally regulated skill sets, and assist students where necessary
Proctor state/federally regulated proficiency/knowledge examinations
Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve instructional materials
Foster an engaging classroom environment that promotes student participation
Stay updated on current best practices and innovations in industry-specific knowledge areas
Willingness to travel to local HBA jurisdictions for live trainings, primarily in Eugene, Salem, and Portland areas
Preparation of all course materials in advance of live trainings
Provide hands-on trainings 8-12 times per month

Proficiency in both English and Spanish, particularly as it relates to the construction/housing industry
Experience in teaching or instructing adults or Bachelors Degree
Some construction/housing industry knowledge desired
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Pay: Salary Commensurate with Experience
Expected hours: 30 hours with potential for more
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
Teaching: 1 year (Preferred) or construction, trade experience, presentation or coaching
