ABOUT THE POSITION This position oversees all aspects of the equipment, uniforms and organization in the equipment room (“The Cage”). In addition, this position will assist with the maintenance, upkeep and set up of the athletic facilities and fields while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for the Tabor community. The candidate must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Reports toDirector of Athletics Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Manage equipment room (“The Cage”) o Distribute equipment and gear to students and faculty as needed o Maintain an organized system of distribution, documentation and retrieval o Inventory equipment and supplies o Work with the Athletic Director to ensure supplies and equipment are available to run efficiently and effectively o Maintain uniforms, equipment, and provide for game day needs o Responsible for athletic laundry/towels for athletes (washing/folding) Athletic Center facilities and fields o Prepare and maintain grounds and equipment for Tabor’s athletic facilities o Properly maintain artificial turf and/or other athletic surfaces for specific sport activities o Individual will perform set-ups for athletic/other events within athletics o Prepare and maintain all moveable equipment for use by coaches, athletes, and the public according to recommended industry standards o Monitor building security, maintenance and custodial duties o Keep all areas of the indoor and outdoor athletic facilities neat, clean and safe at all times providing clean, sanitary and safe internal and external areas Other Responsibilities o Communicate equipment needs, repairs, field, and facility conditions regularly with Athletic Director to ensure that playing surfaces and facilities are in safe and playable condition. o Track industry trends for all sports, and communicate with coaches and students o Willingness to learn and develop skills related to upkeep of the ice rink, Zamboni and other duties related to Athletic facilities as assigned o Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or Assistant Director of Athletics Skills Possess a solid understanding of a variety of sports and the equipment /facilities required. Ability to multi-task and work as a collaborative team member. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook required Essential functions Full mobility for walking, lifting, hearing, and seeing Must be able to lift various items up to 100 lbs. Requirements Customer Service and Communication – working with the public and in a school environment; rink experience helpful Problem-solving skills – ability to prepare and think proactively when situations arise; recognize potential problems and address with management Teamwork – must be able to work well in team environment, within the Athletics department and other departments throughout the School Flexibility - schedule will vary based upon athletic competitions, games, tournaments – will be required to work evening and weekend shifts as needed during season Requires climbing, reaching, bending, pulling and lifting; some work is done on slippery surface(s) and varying environments including warm and cold temperatures To Apply Please send resume toemployment@taboracademy.org.
