Direct Care Staff provide support and care to individuals with severe and persistent mental health challenges. Direct Care Staff are required to perform all duties in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 30935-0100 and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Our staff are compassionate, competent, energetic, and professional. In addition, staff are expected to be patient, fair, firm, consistent and able to deescalate situations using excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Management and Medication Administration
• Assist with basic ADL’s if needed
• Cook and Prepare meals
• Perform light housekeeping
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report unusual incidents and chart progress
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Participates in personal and organizational development
• Successfully completes all required orientation, training, and health testing
• Provide support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Ability to quickly become proficient in all office technology, required for the position
• Ability to manage, prioritize and complete multiple job duties throughout your shift
• Knowledge of emergency response, first aid and CPR
• Good housekeeping abilities
• Cooking skills with attention to dietary constraints

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Capable of implementing the facility’s emergency procedures and disaster plan
• One year caregiving experience
• Clear criminal background check
• Be literate and capable of understanding written and oral orders
• Have good communication skills
• Experience in Management and Medication Administration
• Tuberculosis and Hepatitis B status provided within two weeks of employment
• Meet other qualifications when required by contract or financing arrangement approved by the division
