Cohen Children’s Medical Center, associated with Hofstra-Northwell Medical School, Department of Radiology, is actively seeking a full time Diagnostic Pediatric Radiologist.
Candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O degree and be board certified in Diagnostic Radiology. The candidate must also have had a fellowship in Pediatric Radiology, CAQ certified or eligible and qualified for licensure in New York. Expertise in all areas of Pediatric Radiology (except Neuroradiology) is a must. Additional expertise/interest in Pediatric MSK is a plus. The successful candidate will also have dedicated time towards scholarly activities and will be expected to teach medical students, residents and fellows Participation in several multidisciplinary conferences is also required.
Clinical responsibilities include all aspects of Pediatric Radiology (plain film, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT and MRI). Service coverage includes Cohen Children’s Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, as well as several community hospitals remotely.
The Cohen Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) of New York is a 202-bed tertiary pediatric hospital performing approximately 70,000 examinations a year. It is the largest provider of pediatric health services in New York State and serves 1.8 million children in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island’s Nassau and Suffolk counties. There is a new inpatient hospital with a state-of-the-art Emergency Department. It is a Level I Pediatric trauma Center and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. There is a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Bone Marrow Transplant unit.
The Pediatric Radiology division is a growing group of 5 dedicated pediatric radiologists. There are two new dedicated Pediatric MR machines (1.5T and 3T), two CT scanners, two new Siemens flat panel fluoroscopy unit, and 3 ultrasound suites. There are Pediatric Ultrasound technologists 24-hours a day.
A new separate Pediatric Neuroradiology division has also been established, which includes two dedicated Pediatric Neuroradiologists.
Research activity is encouraged and supported with abundant opportunities through a departmental research division and with the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.
The CCMC is located on the border of Queens and Nassau County, Long Island, and is approximately 15 miles from Manhattan.
