Preschool Program Director

Job Description:
The director of the program will be responsible for student enrollment, daily operations, record keeping, hiring, training, supervising staff, and communicating with licensing. The duties and responsibilities will be carried out under the direction of the CEO.
Hours: 40+ hours per week
Compensation: All our directors are hired on a W-2 and are compensated salary based on experience and degree.
Qualifications (one of three):
1. High school graduation or GED; completion, with passing grades, of 15 semester or equivalent quarter units; and at least four years of teaching experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program.
Three of the 15 units required above are in administration or staff relations.
Twelve of the 15 units required above shall include courses that cover the general areas of child growth and development, or human growth and development; child, family and community, or child and family; and program/curriculum.
2. An associate of arts degree from an accredited or approved college or university with a major or emphasis in early childhood education or child development; and at least two years of teaching experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program.
Three semester or equivalent quarter units shall be in administration or staff relations.
3. A bachelor's degree from an accredited or approved college or university with a major emphasis in early childhood education or child development; and at least one year of teaching experience in licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program.
Three semester or equivalent quarter units shall be in administration or staff relations.
A Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or a Child Development Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credential
4. CPR & First Aide certification and Mandated Reporter Certificate
Meets all state-required conditions of employment including Live-scan and TB clearance. Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Duties & Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
Supervises staff to make sure processes and licensing rules and regulations are followed.
Oversee staff is delivering program curriculum
Admissions process and student enrollment
Daily operations
Licensed required Record keeping
Hiring and Training
Communicating with students, parents, staff and licensing
Have a nurturing and supportive tone with staff and maintain professional conduct with parents.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Good writing and verbal communication skills.
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Physical Capabilities:
Be able to lift 25-30 lbs.
Be able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, and speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety
