We are inventors, builders, and doers, passionate and purposeful in the work we do. We have a once-in-a-century opportunity to reinvent personal transportation—and we need your help. As a Senior Electrical Integration Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead the integration of complex electrical systems into autonomous driving robots. In this role, you will be responsible for leading system design and integration by synthesizing vehicle product requirements into functional system requirements and guaranteeing proper integration across the multiple body controllers and their interfaces. You’ll be part of a passionate team dedicated to making cities safer, smarter, and more sustainable.
Together with the team, you will work to develop, validate, and continuously improve the robot’s electrical architecture to production maturity. We are looking for an engineer excited to engage cross-functional teams while holding yourself, teammates, and the larger organization accountable for meeting requirements and timelines. If you consider yourself an expert on a handful of vehicle systems, enabling you to dive deep into functional integration topics that bring hardware to life, we would like to hear from you!
In this role, you will:
- Own Lighting Control, Robot Remote Control, and Sensor Cleaning Systems Design, including system tech specifications and SFMEAs.
- Develop system design and integration compatibility based on product requirements, considering cost, mass, time latency, functional safety, and cybersecurity
- Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, firmware development, and firmware validation teams to establish system requirements and integration actions for proper system-level definition. Ensure relevant subsystems are designed to meet system requirements and interfaces.
- Participate in tech reviews to evaluate potential suppliers and ensure proper system integration requirements, verification and validation tests are planned
- Create System FMEAs, develop diagnostics, and fault reactions to ensure safe vehicle operation
- Lead the triage of issues within the system under your responsibility, including log reviews, code reviews, and hardware investigation
- Develop processes and mentor electrical integration engineers to adopt the Agile process.
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree
- At least 10 years of experience in systems design with 5+ years of experience in developing automotive systems using model-based processes for one or more of the following domains: Body Closures, Lighting, Passive Entry or Telematics
- Experience in developing electrical systems and subsystems requirements and proficiency in requirements management tools (IBM DOORS, Siemens Polarion, or similar)
- Solid knowledge of automotive serial communication protocols (CAN/LIN/Ethernet) application and physical & functional interface definition
- Solid knowledge of Automotive Diagnostics (UDS) routines and Functional safety Standard (ISO 26262)
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in model-based system design process
- Agile - User or Product Owner Certified
