Industrial Source is now hiring a full time Delivery Truck Loader/Plant Operator and Back-Up CDL Route Delivery at our Portland Location. Shift is 8am-5pm with one hour lunch, Monday-Friday. Willing to Train! If you already have your CDL, this position will start at higher pay.
What You’ll Do: The Delivery Truck Loader will safely load and unload our daily delivery trucks for safe transport to our customers. Reading from a daily Load List, this loading is handled via forklift and hand truck, focusing on moving liquid, medical, and high-pressure cylinders, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company standard operating procedures. As needed, you may also fill cylinders with cryogenic gases and liquids.
Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers, recording type and quantity, and safely strapping cylinders. Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all government and company regulations related to the safe handling of hazardous materials and cylinder gases.
Cylinder Inspection: Examine returned cylinders for surface defects, dents, cracks, burns and perform minor maintenance of equipment and inspection of cylinders prior to filling. Perform various safety checks, such as odor tests and inspections of caps and valves, and analyze products for purity and correct mixtures.
Cylinder Movement: Rolling, using a pallet jack and/or forklift, move cylinders to designated work area using appropriate, safe work method or equipment
Sorting: Segregate out-of-test cylinders and any defective cylinders.
Cylinder Handling: Manage high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders. Prepare high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling by connecting to a manifold and evacuating to eliminate contaminants. Fill cylinders according to pressure and weight regulations.
Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation to meet DOT, FDA, OSHA, and company standards, including quality control sheets. Accurately read and deploy required information on daily Load List.
Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly appearance in the plant.
Delivery Driver: Position requires back-up CDL delivery capability for emergency deliveries. No CDL? We'll train.

We’re looking for someone who is willing to work hard, adjust when customers need us, has the agility to flow where the work is needed, and has the confidence to act decisively in a fast-paced deadline-sensitive environment. If you are a motivated, enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to prioritize your own workload, and work independently, all while maintaining safety and regulatory agency standards, this job is for you. Basic math skills will be needed to work with our daily Load List. We do have lifting requirements up to 75lbs frequently, with assistance. **Cylinders are made of steel; by design they are heavy and awkward to move.
