JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Supervised by: Warehouse Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Tire Outlet US Truck Driver MUST possess a California Driver License with the Proper Class and Endorsements for the vehicle he is to drive.
The Driver will be assigned a truck, inspect it daily for safe operations then drive the vehicle to Specific, predetermined locations defined as a “Route” for delivery of Tire and Products. The Driver must comply with all State and Federal Regulations regarding the operation of his vehicle and maintain the vehicle cleanliness. The Driver will always safely operate the vehicle, and he is the only authorized driver unless instructed by Senior Supervision. The Driver will deliver Tires and Products to locations, ensure the proper products are delivered, receive Payment if COD account and ensure Payments by Check or Cash are brought to the Cashier. The Cashier or Supervisor will check in on the Driver, confirm the payments are received and properly record the payments. The Driver is responsible to Fuel the truck with a Company Credit Card and that Card is ONLY USED FOR COMPANY VEHICLES during business. The Driver is responsible for the load of products in his truck and must exercise every precaution to insure there is No Theft of merchandise due to negligence on the part of the Driver.
HOURS: Not to exceed 50 Hours per week or as assigned by the Warehouse Manager with Vice President Approval.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Safely Operate Company Vehicles within State, Federal and Company Guidelines.
-Report assigned time and use fingerprint Technology to Clock In, then report to Warehouse Manager and /or Assistant Manager for Route
-The truck assigned to the Driver must be checked daily via the Driver Check Log Sheet to ensure no mechanical defects, damage to the truck or any issue impeding Safe Operation
-The Driver must be knowledgeable of his route and time requirements
-The Driver is responsible to Collect COD Payments and ensure the Money Collected is the Payment required on that Customers Invoice.
-The Driver will return the money to the Cashier and is accountable for the safe keeping of that money while in route
-Tires and Products on board the truck is the driver’s responsibility to insure No Theft or Product damage
-The Driver will deliver products to assigned accounts and ensure product is counted and tires /wheels etc. are checked on the invoice for accuracy
-ONLY the Driver assigned may drive the truck and Passengers are prohibited except Company Employees approved to go in that truck
-The Driver must keep the vehicle clean. The driver must not abuse the vehicle or drive it in such a manner that damage may occur to the engine, brakes, transmission by driving at excessive speeds, shifting automatic gears while vehicle is not stopped, braking excessively due to high speeds or tailgating
🌟QUALIFICATIONS🌟
1)Must be US (United States) Citizen or have documentation for Employment is the USA
2) Understand the English Language including reading and writing
3) Possess a California Driver’s License with Proper Classes and Endorsements for Vehicle driven
4) Proficient in handling 16ft and 26ft trucks
5) Be in Good Health and Drug Free, Drug Tests may be administered at random
6) High School Education or equivalent
7) Must be able to count money and limited Math Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
1)Ability to perform all heavy and light physical Labor (10 to 60lbs lifting)
2)Knowledge of all State, Federal Laws governing Driving vehicles assigned
3) Ability to follow instructions and directions
4)Understand the Mechanical Basics of the truck including how to check proper fluid levels, Brakes, Lights and not overload the vehicle.
