Minimum Qualifications - Admitted to practice law in Louisiana and in good standing with the Louisiana Supreme Court;
- Has significant experience in defending tort litigation, with a preference of at least five (5) years of increasing responsibility and complexity in civil trial experience;

Examples of Work The duties and requirements of an Assistant Attorney General/Section Chief of Case Administration in the Litigation Division shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- Administratively oversees coverage determinations, appointment of counsel, conflict assessment, requests for appellate action, and requests for settlement authority to defend the State, agencies, and employees sued in tort litigation.
- Primarily responsible for the supervision of all employees assigned to his/her designated section;
- Acts as the subject matter expert for all cases in his/her designated section;
- Executes directives from the Director or Deputy Director;
- Communicates with Litigation Director, management team, the Office of Risk Management, third-party administrator, and clients regarding coverage determinations, responding to requests for representation, conflicts analyses, and appointment of counsel.
- Responsible for maintenance of the division's case management system, including accuracy of data, functionality, case access, and training for the division.
- Communicates with contract counsel regarding minimum qualifications, annual qualification of contract firms, and appointments as special assistant attorneys general.
- Serves as Public Records Request Liaison for the division.
- Responsible for submitting accurate and contemporaneous billing;
- Reports to assigned job location timely;
- Responsible for maintaining regular communication with contract defense counsel;
- Responsible for appropriately delegating non-lawyer duties to designated support staff;
- Remains current on developing and pertinent legislation and jurisprudence;
- Performs such other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Deputy Director, Director, Chief Deputy, or Attorney General.
