IEH Laboratories, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Part-Time Laboratory Courier/Sample Prep Technician position at its facility in Fresno, CA.
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
• A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)
• Some laboratory experience (preferred)
• Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
• Ability to regularly lift up to 30lbs above waist level
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs above waist level
• A valid CA driver's license and clean driving record (including, at minimum, no accidents in the last 5 years)
This position is responsible for safely transporting samples from customers to the lab on a fixed schedule; cleaning and maintaining coolers for sample transport; preparation and QC of various medias; sample preparation; data entry and maintenance of documentation; inventory control; and other duties as assigned.
The pay for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 hourly. This is a part-time position eligible for the following benefits: paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours annually) and 401(k). Part-time employees may be eligible for medical insurance after 6 months if working more than 30 hours/week on average during an initial 5-month measurement period.
