Seeking professionally-trained and very-competent chef who also has a high level of interest in Holistic Nutrition. This position is in a private home where we design our menus according to various principles from traditional diets (Weston A. Price), ayurveda, chinese medicine, macros method, gaps, body ecology, and others. Seeking someone who is already very familiar with these types of approaches and well-experienced with developing the associated menus and expertly cooking the foods involved.
To be considered, you MUST have extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition and be able to speak fluently about this. We have been doing this ourselves for many years to support a child with significant health issues and would like someone to take over this role without needing training from us.
Duties would include planning and preparing all meals and snacks, as well as personally serving at most meal times. Assisting with the procuring of ingredients would also be needed.
To review, we are looking for someone with extensive Holistic Nutrition knowledge and experience and ALSO very skilled at cooking, baking, and serving.
This position can be either ~25 or ~40 hours per week depending on whether the chef is amenable to assisting in other ways in the household in-between cooking/serving. This other work would mostly consist of housekeeping, and occasionally caregiving. Or if the employee lives very close by or has other business they can attend to meanwhile, they could leave in-between meals and work fewer hours instead of adding the other in-home tasks. The option to assist with housekeeping and caregiving will only be available to those with sufficient expertise in these areas.
For a 40-hour situation, the candidate would need to be available 7:30am-5:30pm Monday - Friday and a half-day on either Saturday or Sunday (determined by the family). For a 25-hour situation, schedule to be discussed, but would need to overlap some of the more significant meal times during the week.
In either case, the candidate must have exceptional punctuality and attendance (i.e. no more than 1 absence per quarter for any reason), and willingness to plan days off and any extended breaks in coordination with when the family will also be off or away.
