The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for ensuring patient care is supported by competent staff in an ambulatory setting. The Clinical Supervisor ensures staffing support for physicians and APC’s is prepared monthly and updated daily. In partnership and collaboration with the Clinical Manager the Clinical Supervisor ensures patient safety standards are upheld and workflows are enforced. The Clinical Supervisor is expected to demonstrate leadership skills within Crystal Run Healthcare, and in the community.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages payroll and approves time off. Notifies the Clinical Nurse Manager when an employee demonstrates a pattern of poor attendance
- Ensures PTO is approved equitably and time off meets the needs of both the clinical staff and the practice
- Ensures monthly clinical staff schedules are complete and distributed in a timely manner
- Ensures daily staff assignments are appropriate based on employee skill level and available skill mix
- Meets with staff that float and verifies that they are oriented to the department and able to perform rooming guidelines
- Conducts building rounds throughout the day; monitors clinical workflow, ensures patient safety standards are upheld and addressing problems that arise
- Participates in building/department rounds with the Infection Control manager and/or the Practice Health and Safety team
- Communicates daily with the Nurse Manager to share information acquired during daily huddles and staff/provider rounds
- Ensures huddles focused on patient safety and practice performance improvements are conducted in all building departments
- Observes staff to ensure assessment and data gathering practices are timely, reliable, valid and comprehensive according to practice standards
- Model behaviors that inspire and engage nurses and others to perform optimally, focused on the mission and values of Crystal Run Healthcare
- Checks log sheets weekly to ensure they are completed per policy accurately and timely
- Monitors medication and clinical supply inventory. Collaborates with pharmacy and materials management on par levels
- Ensures clinical staff have completed initial and ongoing competency and continuing education. Arranges in-service education as needed
- Participates in practice health and safety assessments. Ensures all departments are assessment ready. Collaborates with educators, team leaders and other members of the clinical team on areas that require remediation
- Serves as a role model for clinical staff, maintains a positive attitude, and demonstrates professionalism in behavior, dress, attendance/punctuality and customer service

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current NYS Nursing License (RN/LPN)
- Specialty specific certifications as required

New York Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $48,300 to $94,500 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
