SUMMARY:
Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for the Companies services performing the following duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the electrical industry.
• Ability to perform detail take off on industry standard estimating systems such as Accubid.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents, blueprints and technical procedures.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, customers and the general public.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Good computer skills, ability to read and understand RFQ’s from customers, specifications and contract terms.

• Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors and determining cost effectiveness of those vendors.
• Understands and keeps abreast of competitors pricing strategies & relative difficulty of jobs. Uses this knowledge and judgment to set and adjust prices accordingly and decline undesirable jobs. Improves job knowledge through appropriate training, study, etc.
• Understand all electrical processes so as to be able to estimate all types of electrical work.
• Estimates are of high quality as evidenced by accurate material take-off, consistent and accurate labor estimates, thoroughness of information provided the office & field, accurate pricing for outside processing and materials, attention to detail involving special circumstances, tolerances, etc. Consistently checks own work for accuracy and makes corrections as necessary prior to submittal.
• Demonstrates commitment of time as required to prepare quality quotations within the time parameters established by the customer. Consistently completes all estimating work required for assigned business segment. Contributes to overall productivity of company by assisting other estimators with their work as required.
• Reviews data to determine material & labor requirements and prepares itemized lists. Utilizes computer proficiency and other available resources in estimating process to improve speed, accuracy, organization and efficiency.
• Consults with clients, vendors and other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Attends scheduled meetings & promotes team environment by cooperating and being helpful with other departments. Communicates honestly and respectfully with others and listens effectively. Maintains a positive attitude with co-workers.
• Workings with others in the estimating department do follow-ups, as necessary, to understand competitiveness of bids for applying to future bids.
• Check with office team prior to delivery commitment.
• Accept new assignments and added responsibility willingly.
• Take part in reviewing job histories and in formulating new cost estimates.
• Follows estimating and general procedures.
• Is willing to learn to estimate new types of jobs and obtains training as required toward this end.
• Is able to estimate jobs for all customer segments. Demonstrates commitment to customers by returning phone calls promptly and always being courteous. Consistently meets obligations to customers. Follows up to insure satisfaction. Provides service to internal customers (co-workers) via timely, appropriate and professional communications and interactions.
