Director of Acute Services

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Acute Services to lead and oversee the operations of our Med-Surg and ICU departments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in acute care nursing leadership and a deep commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes. This role requires strong clinical expertise, particularly in Med-Surg or ICU settings, paired with demonstrated management and leadership capabilities.
As the Director of Acute Services, you will play a critical role in shaping patient care strategies, mentoring staff, and driving quality improvements. Your leadership will directly impact our ability to uphold our commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare to the Missoula community and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Med-Surg and ICU departments.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care and improve clinical outcomes.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs to enhance operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Mentor, coach, and evaluate the performance of nursing and support staff to promote professional development and engagement.
- Analyze and utilize data to drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and staffing to align with organizational goals.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Montana (or ability to obtain).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in acute care settings, with a strong background in Med-Surg or ICU nursing.
- At least 3 years of progressive management or leadership experience in a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and achieve organizational goals.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
