Position Summary:
The Safety Coordinator ensures a safe and compliant work environment in the food manufacturing plant by implementing safety policies, conducting training, and monitoring safety performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and enforce safety policies in compliance with OSHA, FDA, and local regulations.
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and investigations.
• Lead safety training and ensure staff compliance with safety procedures.
• Track and report safety metrics, incidents, and near misses.
• Maintain safety equipment and oversee emergency response plans.
• Promote a safety-first culture and collaborate with teams to improve safety standards.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma required; degree and/or certification in Occupational Health and Safety preferred.
• 2+ years of safety experience, ideally in manufacturing or food production.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and food safety protocols.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
