About the Job:
Established San Francisco restaurant group seeks an experienced part-time bookkeeper
to help support our in-house finance and accounting team.
Primary Responsibilities are:
● Properly code, enter and adjust all financial transactions related to income and
income liabilities (sales, tips liabilities, etc.).
● Properly code, enter and adjust all payroll expenses and miscellaneous expenses
not entered by finance/accounting staff.
● Month end close, including bank account reconciliations, prepare P&L, balance
sheet, and other financial reports under direction of General Manager.
● Track sales tax liability and remit sales tax payments.
● Analyze vendor payments, to send 1099s, when legally required, at end of year.
● Work with finance staff and General Manager to train on proper maintenance of
GL accounts and proper procedures for entering A/P transactions.
● Properly adjust Chart of Accounts, with GM approval, to ensure ability of finance
team to efficiently and effectively analyze business performance and financial
position.
● Analyze accounting procedures with GM to ensure YoY consistency, and that
GAAP are being followed.
● Any miscellaneous JEs as requested by GM or CPA, in order to bring books up to
standard for proper representation of business’s financial position.
Qualifications:
● Must be able to complete month end close by 10th day of the following month.
● 3-5 years of high volume bookkeeping experience required. Experience in the
restaurant industry is a plus, but not necessary.
● Able to easily explain principles to, and train inexperienced accounting staff.
