We’re looking for Denailer to join our Facilities team. This is a full-time position located on site at our salvage yard in NW Portland.

Job Description:
The Denailer will be responsible for efficiently processing reclaimed materials. This includes, but is not limited to, the safe and effective removal of nails and foreign objects, sorting materials to meet specific requirements, and stacking or bundling materials into safe working loads. This role is dynamic, requiring strong spatial awareness and the ability to adapt quickly in a constantly changing environment. Team members must demonstrate flexibility, be capable of working both independently and collaboratively, and possess good problem-solving skills to stay on task without constant supervision. Good customer service and communication abilities are an added advantage, especially during occasional interactions with retail clients through the sales department. By developing foundational skills and gaining experience in our trade and mission, this position offers opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Yard
Assist with receiving and unloading materials
Ability to identify safety concerns and effectively communicate these with Lead Denailer, Facilities Manager and all other salvage yard staff.
Maintain an organized denailing tent
Keep visuals for unitizing instructions up-to-date
Responsible for own tools as well as the safe and proper maintenance and use of shared yard tools
Retail
Assist Retail Staff with stocking materials
Assist with customer orders (“PULLS”)
Assist with customer load-outs
Skills, Competencies & Qualifications:
Enthusiasm and commitment to learn deconstruction practices, Lovett values, and safety standards
Ability track a variety of ongoing required duties and prioritize daily tasks
Experience with identifying safety concerns in a similar warehouse, yard or industrial environment
Mechanically inclined with experience using power tools, preferred
Experience in construction or related field, preferred
Experience working in outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions, strongly preferred
Experience serving the public in a customer service capacity or related field, preferred
Physical Demands:

Ability to perform repetitive movements

Ability to lift ~50lbs, repeatedly over the course of a day; handling power tools and hand tools; prying, pulling and twisting

Comfortable wearing a respirator and working according to safety standards with hazardous or potentially hazardous material
Ability to work well with others in a collaborative environment
Capable of communication via text message, group text message and email
Effectiveness in working in an environment with moderate to high noise levels with the ability to use proper ear protection as needed or when instructed
Highly responsive to communication and feedback and offers feedback constructively and respectfully

Compensation:
The hourly pay starts at $18.50/hour, increasing with industry-related experience
