We are a collaborative mid-sized agency with an immediate opportunity for an Account Director to join our growing Consumer team!
The ever-growing Consumer team has an immediate opening for an Account Director to support a major CPG brand.
As Account Director, you will be the day-to-day team lead running an anchor CPG business for the Consumer practice with a lot of opportunity for growth and visibility. You'll be managing account team members and serving as a strategic, trusted client counselor. You'll oversee the success of client programs, manage complex projects, and lead and inspire team members. Most importantly, you'll work with a very talented, collaborative, and inspiring team that will have your back no matter what. This is an excellent opportunity for a communications professional who wants to be part of a fun loving team that encourages critical thinking as much as creativity (the best of both worlds!).
Location: Remote or hybrid in the New York office (1 - 2 days/week)
What You'll Do:
- Serve as a strategic voice and day-to-day account lead for the client.
- Lead client calls and internal meetings.
- Lead ideation and execution of integrated campaigns (including PR strategies, talent and influencer partnerships, brand partnerships, and more).
- Support senior leads in fiscal year and tentpole campaign planning.
- Assist in crafting media materials (media strategies, press releases, pitches, etc.), collaborating on influencer campaigns, and reviewing team's miscellaneous account needs (e.g. agendas, recaps, client notes).
- Drive media relations programs, from strategic oversight to helping the team to brainstorm new angles and conducting press outreach.
- Maintain strong media and influencer connections and/or be willing to build new ones, as needed.
- Work with account and speciality teams (e.g., creative, influencer, measurement/analytics, etc.) to create and oversee delivery of best in class work.
- Directly manage 2-3 employees that could range from AC-SAE; coach in real-time and provide actionable feedback and guidance to add value to teammates and the work.
- Create, review, and track program budgets.
- Lead monthly financial administration deliverables, including hours setting, revenue reconciliation and reallocation, and invoicing oversight.
- Be a problem solver for the team.
- Be a voracious consumer of earned and social media and culture, with the ability to bring fresh thinking to client work.
- Participate in new business activities, as needed.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7 - 10 years of experience working in-house or at an agency (agency preferred)
- Experience managing a team of 1-3 direct reports and/or mentoring junior talent
- Strong industry relationships (media, influencers etc.) and an ability to build strong client relationships
- Experience developing communications strategies and generating impactful earned media results
- Experience working with influencers and managing influencer campaigns
- Experience in managing/working with third party influencer vendors/networks.
- A solution-oriented and collaborative approach to all work, alongside an entrepreneurial and self- starter mindset
- Proven ability to effectively organize multiple deadlines across accounts and teams
- Ability to work independently and multi-task in a team-oriented environment
- Advanced writing, editing, and research ability
- Positive and flexible attitude
- In touch with cultural and industry trends
- Excellent client relationship management
Nice to Have:
- Experience and/or passion for CPG brands
- Experience working with celebrity talent
- Experience working on an integrated agency team (IAT)

- Salary: $101,000 - 135,000/year
Our Flexible Work Policy:
We believe that our best work happens in a hybrid working environment. If you are in the NYC (or commutable surrounding distance) hub we want to see you in person 1 - 2 days a week. That could mean in our office, in our client's office, on the road with them or attending an industry event.
For those outside the NYC hub, you will be asked to be in person too. Examples of this may include client meetings, events or team meetings. There will also be in person opportunities for you to connect with others who live in your hub to collaborate and work together.
