Industrial Source is now hiring a full time Class B CDL Route Delivery at our Salem Location. Shift is 8am-5pm with a one-hour lunch, Monday-Friday. No weekend work, home every night! Class B CDL with hazmat and air brakes endorsements is preferred, as well as current medical card. Don’t have a CDL? We will train the right candidate.
What You’ll Do:
Our delivery drivers are responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Class B delivery truck to deliver compressed gas cylinders, as well as industrial/welding equipment and supplies to customer locations throughout the Portland metro area while frequently interacting with customers. This position also loads/unloads delivery trucks, assists with maintaining plant organization, and maintains accurate cylinder inventory through use of handheld scanners. Steel cylinders are heavy. Must be able to lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Safe and Timely Deliveries: Operate commercial vehicles to deliver cryogenic gas cylinders and industrial supplies to customers efficiently and on schedule.
• Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, ensuring deliveries meet their needs and addressing any concerns or questions.
• Loading and Unloading: Assist in safely loading and unloading cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers, recording type and quantity, and safely strapping cylinders. Operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all government and company regulations related to the safe handling of hazardous materials and cylinder gases. Follow all safety procedures related to transporting hazardous materials, including proper PPE use and emergency procedures.
• Inspect and Verify Shipments: Confirm accuracy of deliveries by checking products against delivery tickets and customer orders using handheld scanner.
• Maintain Accurate Records: Complete all required paperwork, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and customer signatures.
• Perform Vehicle Inspections & Minor Truck Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition. Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and ensuring vehicle readiness.
• Communication: Stay in regular contact with dispatch and supervisors to report delivery status, delays, or issues.
• Time Management: Manage delivery schedules to ensure on-time performance while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
• Maintain Vehicle Cleanliness: Ensure delivery trucks are clean and organized, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
