DescriptionJob Summary: The Quality Manager is responsible for site level Quality Management System compliance and improvement opportunities to ensure our products meet customer and engineering specifications. This role involves leading Quality Assurance initiatives, managing quality teams, and developing strategies to improve overall product quality assurance and manufacturing efficiency. The Quality Manager drives multiple cross functional teams, collaborates across departments, and works with other locations to promote and evolve the AAON quality culture.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Establish and maintain site level quality standards and records based on Global QMS.
- Leads and mentors the Tulsa quality assurance team, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure effective performance.
- Oversees Quality Assurance initiatives, projects, internal and external audits, and corrective actions.
- Analyzes data from a variety of sources including internal audits and inspections, quality control inspections, unit testing, field and customer feedback, and external supplier audits to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborates with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Manages the investigation and resolution of customer complaints related to product quality. Meets with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are met.
- Travels to Suppliers and Job sites as needed.
- Stays up-to-date with industry trends, and best practices in quality management.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, and root cause analysis.
- Participates in yearly department strategic planning sessions, monthly Quality reporting to Senior and Executive Leadership, and customer facing meetings.
- Collaborate across site locations and travel between location to ensure global implementation and compliance with the QMS.
QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance or a related field, or equivalent experience required, and 6+ years' Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Strong knowledge of quality standards (ISO, AS9100, etc.) and methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean).
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in quality management software and statistical analysis tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment:- Primarily works in a professional, office environment.
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs unassisted.
- Work may require periodic visits to a manufacturing facility with exposure to loud noises, seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and chemical fumes.
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed.
