Books + Records is a neighborhood bar + restaurant nestled in the heart of Bankers Hill. Through the lens of globally inspired American cuisine and carefully crafted cocktails, Books + Records provides an energetic, hospitality-focused experience, whether you are joining us for an excellent burger and a cold beer, or for a multi-course meal with all of the flourishes. With nightly happy hour, live music, a very comfortable bar and inspired design, our space is the perfect spot for any occasion.
The Position: Host
• Greet all guests and be attentive as soon as they walk through the door
• Create a welcome environment for guests.
• Maintain the reservation book and guest record keeping
• Always try to find ways to accommodate a guest request.
• Guide guests to their tables with menus.
• Manages the floor plan and pays special attention to reservations and ensures they are seated in a timely manner.
• Clean, organize, and stock menus at host area.
• Answer phones and exercise proper phone etiquette when answering questions
• Observe the entire dining experience ensuring that every moment at the exceeds expectations
The Position: Service Assistant
• Support servers throughout service by providing impeccable table maintenance
• Ensure a clean and organized service station
• Ensure all flatware and glassware is meticulously polished and constantly stocked
• Ensure all food and beverage is properly presented and delivered accurately to guests
• Exercise foresight throughout the shift to anticipate guests needs
